Hi all.
I have recently been to Koh Samui and bangkok, and the the thai fever has me! i will be returning to thailand (phuket) in 2 weeks. Im having a stress attack though. When we went to thailand last time we went with people who had already been there. this time it is just my fiance and I.
How do you fin all the shopping centres? We are staying at club andaman and want to know if they give you a map of the island or what? or if anyone knows a good website that gives pointers on how to find everything? We are not hiring a car or bike.

Free maps in the airport arrivals hall. Plenty of free ones in the hotels and tour agents stalls too.

Club Andaman is within walking distance of everything in Patong. JungCeylon is just up the road. The big OTOP market area a few hundred metres further on. Just jump on the back of a motorbike taxi if you are tired walking. 40baht each maximum on them will get you anywhere in Patong. Try and avoid using the ripoff mafia controlled tuktuks.

Middle of the island has BigC and Central Festival Malls close together...well worth a visit.

You will fing sooooo much info on here you will feel at home sraight away.
Also you will find maps on this link
http://www.phuket.com/phuket-maps/index.htm
It has excellent maps of Patong etc, so as you check out Cathys web site you will be able to see where things are in relation to you hotel.
You don't need a car if you want to go anywhere that is not an organised tour you just hire a driver (cheap) there are some of those that have been recognemend on the site as well. The drivers will know where the places are.
Anything else just ask.

Hi Kylie,
Don't stress there is plenty to do. I went by myself and met people, lost my voice completely in some crazy pub there and went to bed exhausted everynight.
If you go to Bangala road there is a little tour box (which are everywhere) opposite Scruffy Murphy's which was excellent to book tours through. Don't book tours through the hotels becuase you'll get slugged.
When you get off the plane there is bags of maps and discount vouchers as you come through passport check but before the baggage thingo, smile for you photo, but the hotel should give you a map.
Enjoy your time there while it lasts.

Kylez, your hotel is in a great location at the northern end of Patong Beach (great pool as well)you wont have a problem finding places to go. Try the big brekkys at Joys Cafe opposite Club Andamans main entrance, its great and they make the coldest milkshakes haha, its a nice little Thai run place and they bake their own bread as well.
