Hi,
My family is planning a trip to Bangkok and Phuket next month. We're looking to stay at a hotel/resort (3 Star preferably) situated right on the beach which should be in the range of about US$ 40. Preferably a not too crowded area of any beach area in Phuket.
Secondly is there a train service to Phuket from Bangkok?
Thanks in advance.
Tyrone

Hello Tyrone, Phuket offers a large variety of accommodation in the 3 star range. Although US$40 (approx 1350BHT) in my assessment may not be quite enough. It would appreciated if you have a more specific location as Phuket also has numerous area's on this beautiful island. To assist you please check out the links below and if you have any further questions please do not hesitate and post them. http://www.phuket.com/ http://www.cathyandgarystravelpages.com/ As far as I am aware there is no rail service but I would stand corrected should that not be the case. Have a great time in the land of smiles regards os2go

Hi, the closest train is in Surat Thani I think. Try this link. How to travel by train in Thailand. The cheapest hotel that I could find was over the road from the beach at $57 per couple 3 1/2 stars in Kata. If you find what you hope to get, please drop me a line and don't tell anyone else. regards shway
