After asking ixplore to change our bookings(theres 4 of us) from end aug to around oct/nov, without us having to pay any more money-,this is because the other guy going has been in icu for quite a while & would not be well enough to go aug. well eventually the manager dean pridham emailed me & i gave him specific instructions re the changes (glad i keep such emails) several days later i email him asking what the delay is & he replied saying >>>>did i want to change the flight or just the hotel to oct/nov??????????? I replied to that, then wait again & i send 2 more emails asking why so long all it took was a courtesy call to say he was working on it.
BUT during this a female calls me to ask if i ever got the first invoice a couple of months ago!because she is taking over my account (this is the 3rd person on my account well 4th counting manager)& i am not difficult! So i go thru it with her & say i am still waiting for manager to call me. Yesterday tea time i finally get an email from ixplore stating they had RE-BOOKED for us to go in nov.. & all flights done except from bkok to perth geezus ! firstly i specifically told them check availability etc., but ask me first & i would ask the others.Then let him know what we had decided. secondly this new trip was $2135-00 more per couple (keep reading it gets worse))))
Just as i was writing a reply,i get another email from someone else at travel co saying similar thing, & booking was all confirmed. THEN i get yet a 3rd email this time from travel clearance co.(owned by ixplore) This had offers for exactly same as we wanted same hotel etc., same price & in oct/nov. http://www.travelclearance.com.au/seaview-hotel-phuket
So what is so hard that they can't just change the dates without charging us so much extra??????
geez am i p** At 12noon friday i am sitting here waiting for manager dean pridham to call me. I waited in all day yesterday too. I called them 3 times more today & still getting the message dean pridham will call me back asap & it's now 5-45 in w.a. & 7-45pm in vic. i think. So i doubt he is going to call. ok my whinge is over cheers shawn

Not good Shawn, Hope they sort it out. So glad I went with Escape travel, even when i made several changes they were so good. Adrian

Shawn It is disappointing that your experience with ixplore has been a negative one! I have booked my Thai holiday via ixplore with Dean Pridham as my contact and can honestly say he has been prompt with both phone and email contact. Several relatives have done the same with similar experiences. I do hope your issues can be resolved to your satisfaction and you have a great holiday. also hope your mate in ICU recovers well.

glad you got a decent deal with them, if they treat everyone so slack they will be out of business quick. They could have even called me this morning,again i waited in, but nothing & on monday i need to go to an appointment so hoping!! Barrie is slowly improving but will take a while with all the things they found. cheers shawn

Shawn, ixplore sounds incredibly disorganised.
Your price difference, though (but certainly not over $2,000 per couple!) would most likely be because November is high season.

yes Tina i can understand if that was the case, but at virtually the same time i got their flier for exact same deal in nov., & i had already told him price had to be same & could be for oct/nov
Its now monday night & still no phone call from dean at ixplore, i stayed home all day again & cancelled an appointment. Not happy!

well finally got this all sorted. I still had to phone ixplore last tuesday, to be told by the lady that dean pridham is NOT the manager & just a sales guy. His effort of an apology was i was busy & forgot!! anyhow he finally got his act together & found us another date etc., for a bit more money & a day less, but all in all we decided to accept it. I just bet he got his ass kicked-I hope so. Going with malaysian airlines now,only drawback is long waits at k.l. Ooh would love to be able to get to shops in k.l. cheers shawn
