good hotel in krabi

hi
ill be going to Thailand in May, and as a rule i prefer not to book hotels earlier but see my hotels before i stay there. At Krabi i want to check out the hotel because
1 - Ive booked Sheraton at Phuket, because you cant go wrong at that price, its about 500 bahts. Now i got to stay at half the price in Krabi. ( so 5 stars are out )
I want a place near the beach, a pool for the kids, and nice clean comfort, more the beautiful, cool atmosphere, quaint maybe kind of hotel. Something to remember.
Secondly, if i reach Krabi on 5th May ( WEDNESDAY ) in the morning can i just walk around a popular beach area ( which you suggest ) and check out a few hotels or do they get filled up fast. Because though its holiday season, its pretty hot and it may not be peak tourist season.

Hi,
there are a lot of the good hotel near the Au-Nang Beach.
I will find the name of the hotel for you, later.
But I want to suggest about the traditional travel in krabi city.
At the night market for local food. Every Day
The Bus-Station Market for the local product. Every Day
